11/17/17 - Thank you to those families who brought in food items for the 5th grade Thanksgiving performance.  It was new experience for 5th grade both in performing together and in using the Grove.

This week in math, we learned how to multiply decimals.  When we return from the Thanksgiving break, students will learn how to divide decimals and begin to review for our next test which will be on December 5.

In social studies, we continue our study of the 13 colonies.

11/3/17 - I can't believe it's already November and we are only a couple of weeks from the Thanksgiving Break!  Don't forget that the LME Carnival is tomorrow!

This week in math, we reviewed and learned place-value from the hundred billions to the thousandths.  The students enjoyed playing Beat the Teacher as we practiced creating numbers on our place-value houses.  We also learned to compare decimals using greater than, less than, and equal to, putting decimals in order, and expanded notation.  Next week, we move on to adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing decimals.

In social studies, we continue our study of the English colonies.  You should have received an email this week about the Thanksgiving Harvest Celebration 5th grade will be having on November 14.

Also, I will be out next week on November 9 and 10 to attend a family funeral.
